An open fire in the elegant guest drawing room and comfortable sofas, antiques and fine paintings all contribute to the warm and welcoming feel, which prevails throughout the house.

The Roman Wall with its museums, exhibitions and digs is just two miles away.The Roman Army Museum, Beamish Museum, Alnwick Castle, the wonderful Northumberland coastline, the Lake District and Newcastle are all within easy reach
